The most glorious thing about this novel is that even the most astute thriller reader won’t see where everything is going until the final threads are unknotted. Those few who do guess early won’t mind, as the pace and prose will keep them hooked. This was a thriller that hinged heavily on plot twists, but also foreshadowed them so heavily that they were obviously well in advance. Sylvia Weiser Wendel, Jesse Adams, and Tom Thorne are the high up characters of this novel.

The pacing was strange, it’s easy to spot the narrative hints that the ending was originally a very different one.
