The Portal is a first-person story of an intergalactic war and the survival of the human race. My home is in a solar system 490 Light Years away from Earth. I have been sent to Earth, where I have assumed the name of Adam Zabel, to find and destroy the Others who are a rival alien species who wish to foster a nuclear war that will destroy humanity, enabling the Others to re-populate the planet. This evil species wants the Earth’s most precious element; water and will do anything to get it. While I tracked one of the Others to New York City, I meet an attractive reporter from California who becomes integral to my ultimate mission. Christine Laska works for the New York Post in Los Angeles and is in the Big Apple to gain some investigative experience. She meets me by accident, but I will forever change her life. We form a friendship that evolves into romance while Chrissy is investigating the murder of a person in the Hayden Planetarium that mystifies the New York Police Department because of the disappearance of the body. After I am able to kill my prey at the Planetarium, Chrissy and I flee New York City to my beachfront home in Santa Monica, California while we track a second Other who is within weeks of gathering unprecedented power following a surprising Presidential election. The FBI, multiple Federal agencies, and a secret government group are closing in on what they now know is an alien species that must be captured alive or destroyed. As the Other maneuvers into power that would cause a world war resulting in a nuclear winter that will destroy humanity, I am the only being on the planet that can stop the total destruction of the human species on Earth. Can I succeed? Will I be in time? After ten years I come back to Earth to try to stop the Others from causing a deadly pandemic that if not stopped will cause the complete destruction of humanity.
